3/25/10 Gabrielle Giffords talks about Sarah Palin's violent rhetoric and threats and attacks 

10 months later she and 16 others, 6 of whom are killed, are shot in a Safeway parking lot during a campaign event. Congresswoman Giffords was shot point blank in the head, and is in critical condition. The bullet went through the left half of her brain. Doctors are optimistic she will survive, but unsure how extensive the damage to her brain is.
