Esee Junglas: "Jungle Bred, Mountain Proven" by Nutnfancy

It's got a jungle name but to me it's a mountain blade. Trekking out into the snowy wilderness with me on multiple expeditions, the Junglas proved itself to be a stout, never-say-die large survival blade. Sharing the same Randall-lineage as the Ontario RTAK II, the Esee Jungles is a steup up in quality in several areas: it has better shaped and grippy micarta scales (precisely fitted to the ultra-straight blade blank), superior heat treatment, better powder coating, and perfect Kydex sheath. The 10.4" 1095 steel blade hammered through frozen log cuts and all batoning in subzero conditions. Yes it still takes a lot of work, but it can do it. Just like all 1095 steel blades of this quality, it is tough, won't chip out on you, holds a great edge, and is easy to sharpen. It is however not rust resitant so take care of it accordingly. Philosophy on the large blade in my systems is covered (maybe separately later on). Suffice it to say, the Esee Junglas when paired with a excellent cross-cutting like the Sawvivor, completes a proven wilderness system for me. You can also expect fast limb shearing, hacking, and stake making. The large, full flat ground drop point can become a deadly weapon too if needed. The Kydex sheath adds outstanding value to the package and features a perfect MOLLE backing, precise snap in and military snap retention, and superior quality in finishing and fit. Esee brags about their knive's features and they're right: they are 100% USA made and have outstanding attention to detail and time-proven, non-trendy designs that just work. This quality level with the Esee knives embue them with Second Type of Cool. But looking good is only half of the equation. Steel like this has to "thump" and thump hard and reliably to impress me. And that it does. As such the Esee Junglas enters the Nutnfancy large fixed blade Hall of Fame. ///////// Nutnfancy Likability Scale: 10 out of 10 ////////////////// Music: Kevin Macleod
